Even though they are beginners, youths age 11-16 want their own class with friends and peers their own age where they can experience success quickly. Our Green/Yellow classes help them feel good about being out on court and that feeling leads to feeling good about themselves.
This program is for middle school and high school players that are new to the game and want to learn how to rally and play tennis quickly. Players learn the fundamentals and basic skills of tennis including ground strokes, volleys, overheads, and serve. Drills and games keep things fresh and offer these future players a chance at early success.
The class is 1 hour long, and students should have a 25 to 27 inch racquet. The class is capped at a 7:1 student to instructor ratio.
For 11-16 year olds who have had success with Green 1 but still lack the playing skills to be ready for Junior development and USTA Team Tennis we offer SERVE/RALLY/SCORE. This 90 minute class continues to train the player on strokes and technique, but also places them into live points, matches and games designed to prepare them for moving into team play.
